Sorry if this has been covered before....
I recently heard about the KT foreigner phone program, and it sounds really good. The "blog" has all the info one could ever need. My only problem is the available phones.

I really want a galaxy, but it isn't available. I don't want an iphone, and it seems like the other options are kind of leftover phones that nobody else wants. Why are only a few certain phones available to foreigners? Also, are any of those other phones any good? The online reviews I read made all of them seem a bit lackluster.
Thanks a lot! |

KT offers the Galaxy K, which is a bit smaller, has half the memory, and a slightly lower-grade screen. You should be able to get one if you visit a store.
The Nexus One isn't a bad phone, It has the 1ghz snapdragon processor which runs a few graphic-intensive games that even my Galaxy S won't (even though the Galaxy also has a 1ghz processor and awesome gpu). Most Nexus Ones come with a 16GB micro SD card inside which is more than the 4GB for the Optimus One (another decent phone...but a bit slower than the rest), and the 8GB of the Galaxy K.
The HTC Legend is a bit small for my personal tastes. I don't know anyone who has one, or even wants one.
I will agree that the phone selection there is a bit....boring. But there are 1 or 2 nice phones on that list. |

This may not be very helpful, but do you have a friend with last year's super-awesome-gotta-have-it phone model? Convince them that they want to upgrade and give them a few hundred for their old phone. That's how I got a less-than-half-a-year-old smart phone. |
