Sorry, I think there are a few of these q's out there but haven't seen any for Japan.

Going to Japan Wednesday. I have global atm card (KEB) that worked in Thailand and Hong Kong.

Should I get Yen at my bank (KEB) or at airport? Also, should I exchange enough for the whole trip?...or just enough to get settled in Japan?

Thanks all.

It depends on how long you are going for.

If just a few days or a week, take Y10000 for every day planned (plus enough for your hotel if needed).

If you are going for longer then you can probably depend on your ATM since you have confirmed that it worked abroad.

Where to get yen - depends on what is convenient for you.
You will get essentially the same rate at ICN as you will from your bank in town.

As you are already aware - DO NOT TAKE WON TO JAPAN. Buy Yen here or take US$.

Thanks! I'm leaving early Wednesday. Going back to Korea early Sunday morning. I'm definitely bringing my card just in case. How much difference is the ATM rate and bank rate?

The exchange rates are similar but the US$5 per transaction for overseas use of your ATM card can be a bit painful.
