Why is this airline so cheap?
I am looking for some place to go the last week in February. The prices here are cheaper then any plane I have seen. I do not care what I have to pay extra for. I am only traveling with one bag and a book. |

Because you get what you pay for.
Expect to pay extra for any checked baggage and/or meals. Expect slow service, and a long wait to check in (especially at Incheon). Expect uncomfortable seats that don't recline very much. Oh, and the flight out of Korea leaves at 11:20 PM, so expect some sleep deprivation. |

Thanks.
Have you used them? I just notice that they are 1/2 the price.
For a 5 or 6 hour flight does it really matter? That is a big saving. And I will not check in a bag. On the way back most likely, but not going. I really have to check this out, but thank you! |

| I've used them a bunch of times, they're legit. I generally find the service to be better than anything you get in the States. |

Yeah, I flew with Air Asia a few times on my last trip. For short hops around SE Asia, they were all right, I mostly just didn't like flying with them out of Korea. They will get you to your destination, though. Just be sure to get to Incheon airport super early (like as soon as check-in opens), so you don't miss your flight, because their check-in staff are notoriously slow.
Oh, and don't change your plans after you've booked, and leave plenty of time between connecting flights, because they almost never give refunds. |

| the meal price is negligible, the line at Incheon was a little long but it moves fast and since everything else at Incheon moves so quickly, you are still at your gate faster than most airports in the world. The seats are the same as most airlines. The staff are all friendly and the stewardesses are mighty fine. I would rather give up a couple amenities to save a boatload of money. definitely recommend |

I've taken then around SEA quite a lot, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia.
They will slap you with silly fines for stuff (I paid almost as much for a bag that was 5 kg over the limit than I did for a return flight once because I had to pay again and again at each of the transfer stops both ways, ha ha -- nice one!)
But if you're not out of the rules, it's good and cheap. I would recommend it. It's easy to book online too. |

| Air Asia will hopefully take off in Korea but I'm not sure. Cebu Pacific Air took off as a budget carrier in Korea because of high demand for flights to the Phillippines in Korea. I'm not sure Koreans have the same fervor for going to and from Malaysia, and well, the prices of non-sale connecting flights airfare to and from KL aren't that much cheaper than flying direct. |
