It's a bit late, so I'm not going to ramble on much. A few direct questions:
1) I am considering entering the University of Southern California's online Masters program in Education. I was wondering if anyone here has had any experience with it. If so, could you give me any general impressions?
2) I already have my BA in English Education and 4 years experience in St. Louis as a high school English teacher. There's part of me that thinks my wanderlust will never be cured and that I will remain in ESL for the rest of my career (I've been here about 6 years already). If that ends up being the case, would getting my MA in TESOL offer me any great advantage over getting my MA in English Education (for those of you who've been here a while and seen how things play out long-term)? I'm 100% confident that there are several threads on this topic already; I'll run a search tomorrow, but I figured I'd ask it here as well.
Thanks for any help that anyone can give me. |

What do you want to do?
MATESOL if you are headed for the tertiary sector although an M. English Ed. won't hurt you - especially in Korea.
M.Ed if you want to stay working with kids and are looking to international / bilingual schools rather than public schools / hangwans.
Waste of time and money (career wise) if you are just going to be working for EPIK/GEPIK, etc.
Do it for your own professional development = go for it..
(I've collected lots of pretty wallpaper over the years. Pro-D is never a bad thing.)
