I'm gonna budget around for around 2million in total for 2weeks in Thailand(including flights/hotels etc). Might aswell enjoy it while your there!

Does 750,000 /800,000ish return to Bangkok sound reasonable?I'm not that seasoned a traveller and these cheap flights always seem very elusive to me.

Oh yeah, for sure. Probably cheaper than that. We got tickets a few weeks ago all the way to Phnom Penh for less.

Check China Southern, they tend to have good prices for ICN to BKK.

You can also try AirAsia from ICN to Kuala Lumpur, then KL to Bangkok.

I booked 7 flights for my trip.

(ICN -> CEB -> MNL (bus) CRK -> BKI -> TWU -> BKI -> KUL -> ICN)

Grand total of 716,000 won. Could have been cheaper, but I'm flying back on Sun Feb 6th, when presumably everyone in Asia will be flying somewhere and I couldn't find a deal.

I figure the rest of the trip will run me another 1.3 mil or so, for 2 mil total.

If you fly Air Asia through KL you can definitely get there for cheaper. They have flights for like $25 from KL to BKK, and you can get there for under 500,000 won round trip.

I think tourcabin.com or tourcabin.co.kr has some great deals to SE Asia. It says that Jeju AIrlines has a special for 200,000 won but I guess you need to see the conditions of travel plus I have no experience with that airlines (brand new).

http://www.tourcabin.com/ticket/ticket.l.jsp?cpage=1&cpart=0&p_date=20101106&p_view=M&p_rcode=R03&p_city=BKK&p_line=-1&p_vterm=-1&p_ptype=-1&search_text2=2010.11.06&p_scity=-1

Get a translator from your school then see if you can find something special. Hotel specials in agoda or cheapostay can run you 35,000 won or $30 per night in the outskirts of Nana or you can do the hostel challenge for 10,000 won or 8-10 dollars.

Let me know how it goes since I will travel with the website myself.

flight: icn > bkk on dec 22/ return jan 6, 640.000 krw
flight: icn > beijing on jan10/ one way, 190.000 krw

hotels i wont need, as i will either stay with friends or have family who will take care of the hotel for me.
but id say, a search on hotels and the average price at the time you plan on going should do the trick ^^

as for the flight to bkk. there were cheaper options, too. but i just didnt want to arrive in bkk close to midnight, since i will have to catch a bus before i get to my final destination. if i recall it right, the lowest price flight (direct flight) that was available was at 520.000 krw.

Did you get that Bangkok flight on Cathay Pacific? 640k won is exactly what they are going for right now.

Is this the best fare you generally can get to Bangkok from Seoul?

I was hoping to score one of those 350k won deals someone posted about in the travel agents sticky some 5 1/2 years ago. LOL
