Is ice skating a good date activity? |
It's a good idea if you are really good at skating. |

Hello all,
I was just wondering if I could get some info about the ice skating places here in Seoul. I am not a hockey player of serious skater. I just wanna go on some dates or hang out with friends. What are the good casual fun ice skating places?
I know there is one near City Hall but I don't know the prices or any info.
The one I went to about 5 stops East of Yeoido was good. It was indoor, not toooo crowded, and cost 9$ for skates and entry.
I was wondering if anybody knew the ballpark prices at different places and if they are indoor or outdoor.
It would be great to start a list for all of the ice skating places in Seoul.
***I live up in Nowon, so if anybody knows any good places and info for smaller places up in this area that would be great.
Thanks
-Dhop-
P.S. This thread is going to be boring either way, but maybe asking how good a date ice skating is will stir the pot a bit. |

I like ice skating and I brought my CCM's here to Korea. Problem is, I can't find anyone to sharpen them. I don't trust the people at Lotte World or other big ice rinks to sharpen my skates properly.
Anyone know someplace I could go to get my skates sharpened? |

Jamsil Station has a skating rink. I believe it is 15k won for rentals and '3 hours' on the ice. This is also known as 'Lotte World' and is on the green line. The 500-1 bus goes there from Moran. Also the 32 bus from Gwangju (Gyeongi-do). |

i went to the lotte world one at jamsil station this week. it costs 13,000 won for rental and admission. i'm not sure about the time limit. i sucked and have always sucked at ice skating, but it was the first time my gf and i did it so it was memorable. the rink itself isn't that big compared to the one back home and the rink is maintained well, the ice isn't very smooth.
the cool thing is that there are kids there training and it's pretty cool to see them doing triple axel jumps or whatever.
my socks got soaked with previous sweat and it stunk up my brand new pair of shoes.
have fun! |

I went to the one at City Hall today.
1,000 won for an hour of skating. Pretty cheap. It was crowded, but I still had fun.
It's at the plaza at gwanghwamun square, right outside the subway station (Exit 3, 5~) |
