I have been to Homeplus, Emart, Costco, Lotte Mart, and a few other stores in the Seoul area, but I have been unable to locate white shelled eggs.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Nut

Happy New Year!

Why aren't the brown ones good enough? Aren't they the same except for their color?

Yes, the nutritional value is pretty much the same, but we won't be eating them.

They are for a craft project that requires white shelled eggs, so brown shelled eggs won't quite do.

Paint the brown eggs white.

Thanks Jane, but white paint won't do the trick, as it will taint the calcium carbonate and the protein matrix of the shell.

Again, if anyone knows where to buy white shelled eggs, I would appreciate your reply.

Duck eggs have white shells. As duck eggs are popular in Korea, plenty of stores, including E-Mart and Home Plus, sell them.

White ones are nicer for dying Easter eggs.

Costco may have some, but I'm not sure. If I tried to carry home a bunch of eggs with all of the other things that I buy there, I would get home with a big mess, so I haven't thought to look at them. I do know that I've seen white eggs in this country, but I don't know where they came from.

It's possible that someone bought them at the military post exchange. You would need to know a soldier well enough that he or she would break a rule for you. They are only supposed to shop for themselves there.

I can't give you an exact location but I did see them here once about a year ago. I can't remember if it was Emart or Homeplus. They were in a bin close to the checkout.

Good luck in your hunt!
