Canadians are now required to have the CRC done through the RCMP - not that it makes any difference, since the local police and the feds use the same data base. It takes about 4 months through the RCMP if one has a criminal record, and only 2 days for those who have no record and apply directly in person back home. In Toronto, and maybe in all of Ontario, one has to go through a third party. The RCMP no longer take applications at their detachments.  |
