Not sure if this has been mentioned before and if it has, I apologize for the double post, but I'm pretty psyched about finally being able to easily import and read any e-book (even torrented ones) on Android based phones.
You will need to download Aldiko - one of the best and most intuitive e-book readers out there.
Once you install it, it will create an Ebooks folder on your int mem sd card
make sure that the ebooks you want to import are converted to ePub format
if they are in any different format, the best way to convert them is to use a freeware called Calibre. So far, I haven't found any formats that it couldn't handle.
Once that is done, place the books into Ebooks/import folder on your internal memory SD card
For some reason Kies, doesn't detect it sometimes, but simply going into a file explorer in windows will do the trick.
Finally, start Aldiko, press the menu button, select IMPORT and voila.
This app does have a huge source of free books already as well and nice features such as Night reading that chances the background color and goes easy on the contrast.
So much better than staring at the light bulb in the middle of the night, trying to read tiny letters on other pdf/doc readers.
edit: another alternative is to use Laputa, which is also a great ebook reader and to place an ebook file anywhere on your phone then open it and Laputa will come up as one of the possible readers to open the file.
Works great either way.
