Can you use more than one recruiter when looking for public school jobs?

Then, after you've found an ideal placement, using that one recruiter who found you the ideal placement to submit your application to GEPIK/EPIK?

My understanding is SMOE and EPIK will not consider if you they receive multiple applications. GEPIK didn't seem to mind when I applied through recruiters. Incheon and Gangnam are more independent and you apply directly through them.

Usually the recruiter is working with schools directly, so they aren't submitting an application to GEPIK, SMOE, or EPIK.

Now, my personal opinion is that teachers should apply as much/often as they want. Will this disqualify them? Maybe, but if enough people do it, then schools will have to choose hiring no teacher or a teacher who has applied multiple times. The only reason why they can enforce this stupid rule is that enough teachers are currently obeying it. Do you want to be one of them?

I never found an "ideal placement" by talking to recruiters. I had to apply to the school and talk to the school. I had to go to an interview and visit the school. I had to talk to the hagwon owner or principal. I had to talk to the head English teacher. I had to see the classrooms I would teach in. I had to find out about my apartment arrangements, and at least find out if I would be taking a bus, subway, or get transportation by car.

I think you are putting too much trust and dependence on the recruiter than you need and should. You are more likely to get screwed in these cases. The recruiters don't care about you, and you are not their blood relative. They will not care for you when you arrive in Korea and find out their promises were not real. They will not settle disputes between you and the school you thought was "ideal".

The "ideal" situation is one where you can freely apply to as many schools as needed and talk to as many schools as needed without being pressured.

So you can use multiple recruiters to submit you to GEPIK?

Thanks

What happens if I don't like the GEPIK/EPIK recruiter I'm currently using?

Do I have to stay with them until I find a placement? Or do I first just tell my current GEPIK/EPIK recruiter that I will be looking for a different recruiter, then look for a better GEPIK/EPIK recruiter?

Many recruiters can not be trusted and some will do last minute things on you. You don't have to tell them anything.

I'm not sure if having two recruiters searching for public school jobs for you is a good idea, so maybe it's a good idea to tell one recruiter to stop looking before asking another to start looking.
