I am looking to apply teaching jobs in S.Korea in June 2011. However, I am going through the record expungement process and realized that it can take up to nine months to clear a record. At age 17 I was charged with "Use of tobacco in schools prohibited". They dismissed the charges, but the record remains. I could kick myself, I thought juvenile records were closed once your an adult, and I don't even smoke anymore! Also I have a traffic violation on my record from three years ago.
I am still going through the process of expungement, but are these two charges something that would hold me back from obtaining a teaching job anywhere in S.Korea?
Does anyone have experience with not having a clear record but still applying?
I am just curious.
Thank you,
