With my Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab, I've tried 'Theft Aware', a highly promoted system out of Austria. It claims to be able to (via SMS from another phone) track your phone via GPS, lock it, wipe it, back it up, etc.
SO, I put it on my wife's tab, did a test lock, and sure enough, it locked....heh heh....did it unlock? Nope. Not for two freakin' hours. Online tech support was good though, they talked me through it and unlocked the Tab.
Then I put 'LookOut' security on my phone. Slowed it way down though.
Anybody tried anything else, especially ones with the ability to remotely lock/track your device?
Tabs don't have available insurance like phones do. |
