|
|
I know there is a lot of information about taxes on this board but I didn't see anything specifically related to e-filing and how to get around the issue that Korean employers do not provide W-2s.
I understand that e-filing is possible by using a US address but how have people (or have people) gotten around the issue of not having W-2s?
I just tried using efile.com just to see how far I could get and they wanted W-2s and also did not provide a way to attach Form 2555.
Are there any vendors that will allow for the attachment of Form 2555 and to claim income without providing W-2 information like EIN?
Thanks for any help or suggestions. Also, is the option to e-file not available until January 14th or is there anywhere allowing for e-filing now. |

you need two forms. 1040 (not EZ) and 2555.
i have always mailed them in. I did not need any w-2s.
you may be right in that e-filing is either difficult or impossible.
still, it's just a few dollars USD to send a letter to the IRS. |

I forgot all about it (taxes) until this post!
I work in a public school - does anyone know if they issue the equivalent of a w-2? |
