|
|
As part of my new year's resolutions, I have decided to reduce the amount of "stuff" in my life, and that means I'm getting rid of a bunch of my electronics, furniture, cooking materials, and more. I'd like to sell it all, so my loss is your gain. Depending on the item or items, you can either pick it up from my apartment, I can ship it via post, I can meet you somewhere on the Seoul subway network, or I can help you arrange transportation. If purchasing multiple items, we can work out a discount.
I can accept cash (Korean or US), bank transfer, Paypal*, Debit Card*, or Credit Card*. Depending on response, I may negotiate.
*Fees may apply to Paypal and Credit/Debit Card transactions, depending on location of financial institution and currency used.

***Baking/Cooking ingredients*** Image: http://tiny.cc/uxoa4
One of the first things I did when I got to Seoul was run out and buy a toaster oven and ingredients to make my own bread, seeing as I couldn't find a decent loaf anywhere here. I'm here to give you the ingredients to refuse to settle for Korean bread and other baked goods. This set includes:

***Home bar collection*** Images: http://tiny.cc/7xdth http://tiny.cc/7aar4
The only way I've survived the harsh Korean winters has been to make friends and keep a steady flow of fermentation running through my veins. I'm here to pass on these tools for doing both on to the discerning bon vivants among you. A good number of these are extremely hard to come by in Korea, and a few of them are actually impossible. This set includes:
Unopened: Tanqueray Gin (750ml), Boodles Gin (750ml), Stolichnaya Vodka (700ml), Jack Daniels Tennessee Whiskey (1L), Galliano (700ml), De Kuyper Creme de Cacao (700ml), Dita Lychee Liqueur (700ml)
90%+ full: Martini Bianco (700ml), Angostura Aromatic Bitters (118ml), De Kuyper Triple Sec (700ml), De Kuyper Melon (700ml), Jim Beam (700ml)
75%+ full: Frangelico (700ml), Schlicte German Gin (700ml), Bols Sloe Gin (700ml), Tondena Gold Rum (700ml), Giroux Grenadine (750ml), Pan Rum Gold Rum (187.5ml)
60%+ full: Woodford Reserve super-premium small batch bourbon (750ml), Commander Vodka (700ml)
As a bonus, I am throwing in: 1 stainless steel cocktail shaker, 5 shot glasses, 1 jar of maraschino cherries, and 9 mini-bottles (Bombay Saphire x2, Grand Marnier, Goldschlager, Hennessy, Jack Daniels, Wild Turkey American Honey, 99 Peaches, Captain Morgan Lime Bite, and Seagram's Sweet Tea)
--Set: W450,000 or $400 US
***TokyoFlash Nekura Tundra Wristwatch*** Images: http://tiny.cc/dtfpe (front), http://tiny.cc/uqx1j (rear, with proof of authenticity)
A little less than a year ago, I thought the time in my life had come where it was a good idea for me to wear a wristwatch. I was wrong. I still don't like the way watches feel on my arms (or hats on my head, for that matter), so this has only been worn a few times and is in fantastic condition.
--W35,000 or $32 US
***North Face winter jacket with hood (L-XL)*** Image: http://tiny.cc/hbieo
Sometimes, television and booze aren't enough during the cold winter, and one has to venture out to avoid stir-craziness. Be prepared for that eventuality with this warm, comfortable jacket.
W25,000 or $23 US.
***Umbrellas*** Image: http://tiny.cc/kjo9k
While there may or may not actually be four seasons in Korea, the truth is that you need an umbrella all year round, whether it be for snow or rain. I always end up leaving mine at home and buying one when I become stranded somewhere without it, so I've accumulated a bit of a collection. Buy one to protect yourself, or all three at a discount if you want to stage an epic battle or re-create Sean Connery's bird/airplane attack from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
--Large: W6,000 or $6 US each.
--Small: W4,000 or $4 US.
--Set of all three: W13,000 or $12 US.
***Kiwi Shoe Shine Brush and Two Tins of Polish** Image: http://tiny.cc/xcryu
Whether you've got a hot date coming up for Valentine's or an important meeting, it's always important to remember that the shoes make the man. Even if you've spent on quality, scuffed and dirty shoes will leave a poor impression. Be prepared with this brush and two unopened cans of Kiwi shoe polish (black and brown).
--W13,000 or $12 US.
***Books*** Image: http://tiny.cc/vlrh5
Face it, a lot of Westerners here in Korea have literary backgrounds or work in the field now. Keep your mind sharp or just enjoy a leisurely read.
--Power Tools for Technical Communication: W20,000 or $18 US.
--Others: W5,000 or $5 US each.
--Set: W30,000 or $27 US.
***Discraft 175g disc*** Image: http://tiny.cc/tn9vi
Whether you're having a flick-around or laying out, you want to play frisbee with the best equipment. Discraft discs are where it's at.
--W7,000 or $7 US.

Looks like most of those spices were bought at HomePlus. There are at most 2 spices that you can;t get in Korea. I'm interested in the Liquid Smoke, actually I think that's the only thing on your list I haven't seen in Korea. I'll give you 3,000won for it. |

Haha, the spice may be worth 3,000 won (or it may not), but do you really think the seller's time is worth only 3,000 won? |

| Is that a real North Face jacket? If so, is it large or XL? Should say on the tag and it'd make a big difference as to whether I'd want it. Thanks |

I bought it back in the States at a department store 5-6 years ago, so I'd hope it was real .
The tag is long-since gone, so I was guessing on the size. I'm 6'2, 220, and it fits me fine, if that helps.

Eh, buy it or don't. The liquid smoke and the Chipotle are the only things I haven't been able to scare up anywhere here in Korea, but I encourage you to do the legwork on the Chili Powder, Tarragon leaves (not fresh Tarragon), Dark Cayenne, and Dill. You can sniff those out, but they may or may not be available, depending on how black-market access has been lately.
Most of the rest, sure, you can find at some Homepluses and Emarts (but not all of them at just one of the two). So go for it . |

You did not spend nearly 80,000 won purchasing that stuff, and trying to get more when you used half of it is plain wrong. Seriously, just give them to someone who needs them. Who can really trust an open package of food? That foreign food mart in Itaewon sells all that stuff and more. |

You're entitled to your opinion. I did, in fact, spend more than 80,000 on everything combined, though it appears I should have consulted you first so I could have gotten a better deal.
I'd also like to point out that everything, aside from the cinnamon, is more than 90% full or sealed. Of those unsealed, only a dash or a pinch (or about four drops, in the case of the liquid smoke) was used in nearly all of them.
As always in Korea, if you feel the price is too high, go ahead and haggle. If you care to inspect the items personally because you cannot trust an open package of food -- though I'm not sure which of these qualifies as a food rather than a spice -- I welcome you into my home. |
