I always cheered for Kim Dong Hyun, but the guy is a lifetime away from a fight with GSP or even winning it. For him to call out GSP is as dumb as the half Korean/Japanese guy (Sexiyama) to complain about Chris Leben being a no-name fighter (and then lose to him).
Korean fighters are good, but they need to get a clue when it comes to their place in the American MMA food chain. Beat someone who's at least challenged GSP before you call him out, Stun Gun. |

He certainly would not be the first fighter to have more bravado than brains, but that is not always a bad thing. |

American Food Chain? Isn't the UFC an international food chain?
It's fighters are from all over the globe, of course Americans are on top but "technically" it's being led by BRAZIL. Not to turn this into a "this country" is > "that country".
Current UFC champs:
HW: Cain Velasquez (USA)
LHW:Mauricio Rua (BRA)
MW:Anderson Silva (BRA)
WW:Georges St. Pierre (CAN)
LW: Frankie Edgar (USA)
FW:Jose Aldo (BRA)
Regarding pound for pound best fighters...I can't think of any Americans who could make the top three or five...at the moment...
SILVA,GSP,FEDOR.... aint American. |

Kim made himself look the fool, IMO. He has no business mentioning GSP's name. He could barely beat a 155 pounder in Nate Diaz. GSP would rip him a new *hole. |

UFC 125 Postmortem: No Answers for Edgar
Monday, January 03, 2011
by Jake Rossen ([email protected])
From the I-want-a-pony dept: Dong Hyun Kim used his post-fight interview Saturday as an opportunity to challenge St. Pierre. Its a strange request given that he has yet to beat a single top-10 welterweight. Not that Kim doesnt have a chance -- his control is solid and his Judo might get GSPs attention -- but its not an opportunity hes earned. |

Are you new to the sport? This is pretty normal in MMA. Or are you just mad because he's Korean? |

Kim would OK for one round, maybe 2. Then he's gas like he always does and it'd be all over by the 3rd or 4th. Kim looks great while he still has the power but if he ever wants to be a serious contender, he has A LOT OF work to do on his cardio. |

That could work like spinach for Popeye. |

Lol... not new and not an old timer... and I'm not mad because he's Korean. I'm mad because he's not doing his homework, thus making Koreans look bad, where I've always been proud of him for making Koreans look good... until his comments. (so I guess it could be because he's Korean, but in the way you're interpreting it.)
Sure it's normal. And it's stupid. I just had higher hopes for this kid. Disappointed is all. |

American MMA food chain as in that's where the big market of fans is. Obviously Brazil leads the way pound for pound in quality fighters. Hence why I was pissed that Sexiyama didn't think Leben is a big name, when his name is as big as can be (reality TV) for someone who's not a champion. |

Koreans have potential to get bigger in the sport one day down the road, like 5 years or so. I'm not saying they'll ever be a superpower or nothing crazy like that, but they could have more fighters reach the big spotlight eventually. Judo seems to serve a lot of fighters really well. |

I watched the fight and as less than impressed by Kim's win. If he wanted to get GSP's attention, he would have had to win more decisively. A KO win or 30-27 by decision.
GSP should take him up on his challenge. |
