Hello:
Is it possible to get a Korean Criminal Records check only using your passport (i.e. No alien card).
Although I've lived in Korea a while, I'm here on a temp. visa this time, hence no alien card.
Anyone ever done this?
Thanks |

What do you need it for? We need more information.
In my case one school wanted one from the city I lived in while working at another school. That school told them they should call the police station directly. I never heard again about the issue. |

Thanks for your reply.
I need a Korean police clearance to work at home (Australia).
I've gotten one before, but I used my alien card then.
Right now I'm only working for a month, so I won't be issued an alien card. |

That's a new one. You have to get a background check for your home country.
I guess I would then find out from your company exactly what they want. The report might be in Korean, so you would need it translated.
I would get a Korean friend after you talk to your company to go to the police station and get that translation somehow "stamped" by Korean police to look official.
Will you need an affidavit to declare the translation is accurate (like police checks or diploma verifications)? Won't hurt, and you may need to ask your company in Australia about this also. |
