Hey, I'm selling this laptop that is brand new.
Never been powered on, never been touched, box still has factory seal on it etc.
I'm located in Seoul, right off Jongno-3ga
THIS LAPTOP WAS BOUGHT IN the states in DECEMBER 2010 brought over to Korea and is now for sale @ only 600,000 WON

model : hp dv5

The specs are

Intel i3 processor, 2.31 ghz per core w/ hyper threading
Windows 7, 64 Bit Home premium
14.5" LED screen
3GB RAM, upgradable to 8gb
250gb 7200RPM hard drive
built in GPS + software / webcam / wifi / HDMI
Weighs less than 5 pounds, w/ 6 hour battery life
2 year HP warranty.

Once again, the laptop is BRAND NEW.

This laptop has the i3 processor, which is newer and faster technology when compared to dual core, core 2 duo etc, as the i3 offers hyper threading which effectively makes it run similar to a quad-core.
The smaller screen size, along with light weight and long battery life allow for great portability, while also having higher performance specs for heavier use when needed.

asking 600,000
most i3 laptops currently sell for 700,000+ so I believe my price is a steal

either PM me or we can email back and forth @ [email protected]

Thanks.

edit: looks like I can't add pictures on this site =/
anyways, it's the same laptop as below

BUMP
let me answer a few questions that people have been asking me via emails or pms.

Price.
600k is firm, i3 laptops just cannot be found at this price anywhere else, and the price in it self is a steal, so no, I will not take 500k, etc

New?
Yep! still in original box with factory seal on it.
http://www.amazon.com/HP-Pavilion-DV5-2074DX-14-5-Inch-Refurbished/dp/B004GTN4DQ
Look at the prices, new = $899.99, refurbished = $569.99 . Mine is NEW also, and never refurbished, and I am only asking 600k which is why no, I will not work with you on the price, it's already at the lowest possible price.

Graphics card?
No idea, it just says "Intel HD"

This means it does not have a dedicated graphics chip or dedicated graphics memory. I believe this model uses Intel's GMA 950, which is respectable for integrated graphics.

I agree, it's a very fair price for a brand new machine - especially given that it's already in Korea.

No it's not like the last one in the world. In fact below is a better deal in that it has a dedicated video card and twice the hdd space; albeit one gig ram less. Also HP laptops bought in the States HAVE no warranty here in Korea. By the way since it's sealed how do you even know it works?
Just saying...

What that person said about the warranty is true. I experienced it when HP extended its warranty on my DV6227 because of a faulty motherboard, but I couldn't get it replaced for free unless the laptop was in the States. I ended up replacing it in Korea anyway, but it would have been nicer to get the job done for free instead of the 250,000 won I had to pay.

On the other hand, the OP's laptop has the OS in English (legit), a bigger screen, more RAM, and while the HDD is smaller it goes at 7200 RPM while there is no mention of the speed for the one found by [email protected]. Also, the OP's laptop is cheaper.

All in all, it's not a bad deal.

I simply want to know why you bought a computer, took it half way around the world, and without opening the box, decided to sell it for less than paid.

The HP G42 has both an English and Korean option when you first boot it up.
After choosing that is the default language.
Most users won't notice the speed difference between 7200 and 5400 unless editing photos or videos. 7200 can suck up more battery and in some cases heat up more.
As for the ram the AMD 6370 has 512MB dedicated to it. The Intel graphics I believe sucks up some of the main ram.
Yes, the OP's laptop is cheaper but then again we STILL don't know if it works since it's still sealed.
Also the HP G42 will have both En and Kr keyboard for those that would like to study/Type in Hangul.

And again spending an amount that most users would like to have some assurance of; a warranty is nice.

i3 isn't as fast as it was two weeks ago since Sandy Bridge was released.

Are you really trying to say that the processer is SLOWER because intel just released the next iteration of the Core architecture?

Come on. The i3 is just as fast as it was last week. Also - good luck finding a Sandy bridge/ Huron river laptop - in Korea - at 600k krw.

Do you really come in to threads to whine about laptops you're not going to buy with rather stupendous claims? "We don't know if it works since it's sealed" - It's brand new, man. Do you hesitate to buy anything that's new just because it comes in a sealed box?

wow! this thread derailed quickly.

As for why it was brought to Korea, It's more of a personal response but it was a gift for someone here in Korea who is no longer a part of my life.

also yes Pushpin fatanatsies, it's still available.

As for anyone else
If you have the won, and we meet face to face
I'd be more than happy to let you break the factory seal and see that it works lol

as far as the warranty issue

HP has a "Global warranty"
Quote:
HP Global Warranty covers HP products at the level of standard warranty offered in the country in which it is used. For example, a product purchased in country "A" and moved to country "B" receives the current warranty coverage provided by country "B"
