Good 7:15am Morning everyone!
So, I've been here 3 weeks and studying alone is extremely diffcult when you have a very short attention span like me.
I was thinking of going to Seoul KLA in Gangnam for around 2 months to complete one level, just so I can get the basics and so I can order food without my hands.
Anyone have any experience at Seoul KLA? Or just Language Schools in general? Any good in learning the language?
Yes or No? |

I've been going there for 8 and a half months now, on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. I'm now in level 3 (it takes 5 months to complete one level if you go two days a week, 4 if you go three days, 3 I think if you do the morning/afternoon classes).
I really love Seoul KLA. I've learned a lot - but I don't know if it's because the school/teachers are good, or if I just cannot study enough of my own to make any real progress.
I love the teachers there. They're friendly, outgoing, and helpful. A lot of days I'm the only one in my class who shows up, so I basically get private lessons at no extra cost. It's quite grammar focused and we do a lot of grammar drills but also a lot of speaking. The teachers won't speak any English at all in the classes, which is incredibly helpful (for me, at least).
The textbooks are pretty bad, though. The English grammar explanations are horrible (obviously not written by a native English speaker). But the teachers do a wonderful job of explaining everything, so I feel like the books are more a lead-in the what we're going to learn, rather than a stand-alone study tool. The workbook, on the other hand, is good and helpful (it's our homework book). They also give a lot of handouts for practice.
It's not the cheapest school out there, but I feel it has been worth it. My Korean has improved dramatically. |
