Let's see who has the highest utility bill for last month respective to apartment size. It's hard to make a poll with all the possibilities. So, just right down your apartment situation (number of rooms, building type, and your bill). I'll start.

1 room (studio) officetel-205,320 won

In a unique situation, staying in the apt. of a family friend of my hagwon boss, I pay a flat 30k a month for everything.

Slight loss of privacy at times, but damn it's cozy up here.

516,000................that's the total utilities bill that came in a few days ago....

That's for a 58 pyeong 3-bed high rise built only 2 years ago, but to terrible standards insulation-wise.....

For reasons best known to the designer of our apt, the cold north side of the apt has only single-windows, while the south side, which gets the sun all day, gets double-windows.

Anyway, I'm appalled at the cost of utilities for my apt. It all seems so expensive compared to the 21 pyeong 'villa' apt I used to live in which never cost me more than 80,000 per month.

I can commiserate. My bills for Jan hit W 720,000! 61 pyeong, 4 bedrooms and a wife that likes to keep the temp at toasty. It doesn't help that the windows seem to have been installed poorly. Additionally, did you know that the larger your apartment, the more electricity and gas cost? That is, per unit you pay less in a smaller apt and more in a larger apt. I guess it's analogous to having to pay more taxes on larger cars...

And my three kids, 'cause they don't seem to comprehend the concept 'Save Energy by turning off lights when you leave a room'.

Jesus, that's almost as much as my rent which my other Korean friends claim is "too expensive."

Just paid about 330,000 for everything, including the apartment's kwalibi fee. Its a small 21 pyung place, with only about 17-18 pyung of real floor space.
