|
|
Tomorrow morning is my last dose of post-op meds, and I was wondering if someone would help me out. I had my appendix out, and I need to make sure that I don't get constipated. I'm eating the right diet and all, but I'd love to pick up some stool softener.
NOT LAXATIVES!
This stuff should be over the counter, but I was given a prescription for 3 days' worth. My grandpa back home picked up a huge things of it at Costco the other day, so he was teasing me.
I've got the prunes and mandarins, but I'd like to make sure to take this as well, as to avoid a hernia (that's what happened to my mom after her appendectomy, and I'm terrified of going through Korean post-op hospital "care" ever again).
So. What's the Korean for stool softener?
Thanks. I'm terribly embarrassed. |

People are different...
Some are sensitive to banana, some to vegetables like spinach and leek。
But don't worry too much, because you haven't eaten much so you should not expect too much **** now.
As long as your intestines are making sounds ( the doctors can tell ) and you start to fart (yeah, that is a good sign). |

Yes I know. I'm home and have already voided, but I'd like to stay on the safe side for a few months. Anyway, again, what is the Korean term for stool softener? I'd like to have my friend pick some up at the pharmacy tomorrow, as I've only got one dose left. |

Just asked a doctor:
I think if you go to the pharmacist and tell him you need docusate sodium or docusate potassium they should know what it is. However, he says you shouldn't take this longer than a few days because it's not meant to prevent constipation but rather soften an already hard stool.
You should just drink tons of water and take a spoonful of metamucil every day that should prevent you from getting constipated. |

Actually, you're right. I'll just take psyllium husk every day with some milk. |

변비약
is medicine for constipation.
folk belief says avoid persimmons because they cause constipation.
if lower abdomen is cold and poor qi circulation, then constipation results, so can put hot water bottle there to alleviate symptoms. |
