Awesome collection! If I hadn't downloaded and burned 700 or so of these myself over the past couple of years, I'd definitely buy the lot.

I'm tempted, but that would take me too much time to go through 10 binders, albeit in alphabetical order, and find 100 dvds. That's pretty much why I wanted to sell the whole lot in the first place, doing individual orders would be huge time taker, and I'm pressed enough for time as it. Thanks for the offer though.

Also thanks for the complement samd. I do pride myself on this collection. I have 4000 DVDs total if you count my Korean, Chinese, TV Shows, Cartoons, Education Program, and PS2 collection, but that's a different story. My students often cannot believe it, until I'm able to fulfill just about any "borrow" request. Movies are a good way to connect to students, and of course work as a wonderful release from the stress of everyday life (at least for me it it).

It's just very difficult to put a price on it. Judging by what you can buy at Yongsan (4 for 10,000) that would put the price at, what 8 million?
Christ! Are they ripped from your own collection or did most of them come from 'other sources'.
Are you going home soon? I'd imagine you'd be in a sticky situation if you got pulled over at customs! Shocked

I would love to buy your whole collection, but prob. cant afford it. And I dont want to offend you with my low offer for the whole thing Sad

If you do decide to break up the set, I'll give you 100,000 won for 100 of my choosing also (:

Yeah, I mean that collection is awesome, but what do you realistically expect for it? 2 million won? I'm not sure how many people are going to be willing to put down a month's pay for a collection of movies that will take them years to finish if they try to watch them all.

Haha, I could only DREAM of getting even a million for it. So lets put it this way, I'm pretty realistic about the price. Even at only 500won per DVD, its still over a million - I know theres no way in hell thats going to happen. I don't want to make anyone break that bank. Reasonable to me is "affordable", and I certainly don't think anywhere close to a million is affordable. Maybe like a couple hundred thousand I think isn't a bad price for so many dvds. At 200,000 won, its only 87 won per DVD. Likewise, 300,000 is 131 won per dvd. Not alot considering, but its realistic compared to a mill Smile

If no one buys these though, I will take them with me. Actually, I'll have them shipped to me. I started this collection while living in China (to reiterate, these are NOT crappy chinese rips - these are all retail dvd copies, originally region 1, now region free, i hate the low quality crappy chinese pirate dvds, i wont touch them with a 10 foot pole), and had a couple binders sent to me every month or so from a friend. So taking them home with me is entirely possible if no ones willing to take it off my hands. But honestly, I'd rather just give them to someone here and save me the trouble.

Cheers

Just out of interest, how many DVDs are there? I'm assuming there are a couple of movies on each DVD?

There are exactly 2280 DVDs. There is exactly 1 movie on each DVD.

I frown upon those who compress/shrink movies to fit more in a smaller space. I hate low-quality, anything less than perfect. IF any of the dvds have been compressed, its only because the extras were ripped, and for video high-quality encoders such as ProCoder or CCE with multiple passes. Non of the dvdshrink crap.

I hope that answers your question. I would send you 2280 DVDs.

Highest bid is 150,000 won. Please keep bid denominations at 25,000 or 50,000. So next highest bid would be 175,000. Let me know if anyone is interested.

To reiterate, I don't want to cause arguments, fights, or abuse the forums. I've put a lot of work into this, and like mentioned before, even at 500won per DVD, it'd still be over a million won. Obviously that's impossible, but I do want as much as I can get for this vast collection, so I'm using the mid method. I promise it will go to whoever that is on Friday though, regardless of the price. But I'm praying someone is willing to pay at least a little bit more for my troubles... Thanks.
