I'm going to Beijing for Lunar New Year. I'll be there Wednesday - Sunday. My hotel is already paid for. I just need spending money for food, trinkets, and entrance fees. Any ideas on how much Korean money I should exchange? Thanks.

150k. Get the rest with your atm card while you're there (make sure your card is internationally accepted if using a Korean one).

I'm not using my ATM card while there. I'm just taking cash and wondering how much I should take.

You could easily get by on $50 per day (taxis, food, entrance fees, etc).

In my personal experience, if you think you will be dragging back any shopping then you may want more.

Personally, I always budget $100 per day, have no worry about doing what I want, eating where I want, shopping where I want, and bring home what I don't spend.

I second $100 a day. Beijing is inexpensive, but you should always budget for hidden costs.

depends on what you want to do. if you go to bars and stuff could spend 150us a day otherwise chinese food and sightseeing is cheap. watch out for scams such as going for tea or buying art from students.

Thanks! Definitely not going to any bars, and I'm to paranoid to let anyone I don't know talk me into going to a tea house or "art gallery." I think I'll exchange 600k won.
