Chris Angel showed how this worked on one of his shows, but it was still kind of surprising. Below are true descriptions of zodiac signs. Read your sign. This is the real deal, try ignoring or changing it and the first thing you'll notice is having a horrible day, starting tomorrow morning - and it only gets worse from there.
CAPRICORN - The Go-Getter (Dec 22 - Jan 19) Patient and wise. Practical and rigid.. Ambitious. Tends to be Good-looking. Humorous and funny. Can be a bit shy and reserved. Often pessimistic. Capricorns tend to act before they think and can be Unfriendly at times.. Hold grudges. Like competition Get what they want.
AQUARIUS - The Sweetheart (Jan 20 - Feb 1 Optimistic and honest. Sweet personality..... Very independent. Inventive and intelligent. Friendly and loyal. Can seem unemotional... Can be a bit rebellious.. Very stubborn, but original and unique. Attractive on the inside and out... Eccentric personality.
PISCES - The Dreamer (Feb 19 - Mar 20) Generous, kind, and thoughtful. Very creative and imaginative. May become secretive and vague. Sensitive. Don 't like details. Dreamy and unrealistic. Sympathetic and loving. Kind Unselfish. Good kisser. Beautiful.

I think there was originally a 13th one, but it was discarded by the Greeks thousands of years ago to make the horoscope fit the calendar year more truly. I think the astrological signs change periodically because the Earth (of course) wobbles around its axis a bit due to gravity, so the positions of the constellations change slowly, at least from our perspective. I guess astrologers argue that this is some conspiracy designed to discredit their practice. To which astronomers would counter, "That's because astrology is a huge, heaping pile of BS.". Naturally, the astronomers are correct, being as how it's an actual science. See also "The Barnum Effect" for further confirmation. |

Or to be more to the point, I think each description is general enough that anyone could think of times that it is suitable for them, not to mention positive enough that it is what everyone inherently wants to be, so could therefore be applied to themselves given the inherent motivation. Take the statement "you have a tendency to act in a way that makes people like you.". I just pulled that one out of the air. Who doesn't? Who doesn't like to be liked? And who doesn't act in a way to be liked? There are people in every person's life who make an exception of this rule, but we can all think of times/situations when this has applied to us individually. |

Ordinarily that is what horoscopes/descriptions do, but this one surprisingly manages to not do that and be all the more wrong for it. |

i thought i was a pisces when all the 'Earth is wobbling! my stocks are falling and the sky, too!' BS shook my mojo and reason for being here...but now, now, i'm so sure my handsome ass is an Aries coz i noticed today after working out that my eyes are not only green, but also shades of faint yellow, too, highlighting their background in the daylight! i'm so good-looking!
but, wait, OMG, i miss my ex-wife! why?  |

Meh, for the record, my zodiac sign (according to the old version) is a Pisces. I like reading my horoscopes in Cosmopolitan because they're always entertaining.
And my Chinese Zodiac is a Dragon which I always felt as a kid was the best zodiac. You know, because dragons are cool and stuff. |
