|

When I go on vacation I want to bring back a special gold coin unavailable in Korea. The gold coin is actually an official currency of a country with a face value of $50. However the metal value is higher than that.
I mentioned to a Korean that I wanted to buy a gold coin and she said people were on TV for being arrested bringing gold into Korea. Is it illegal to do this? |

It's not illegal to bring gold into Korea. If it's worth over USD10K then you'd have to declare it.
Even if it was illegal, how would they know you had it and what it was worth? No need to worry about your coin. |
