SEOUL, Jan. 25 (Yonhap) -- The family of a 52-year-old American teacher, who was pronounced brain dead while living in South Korea, donated her organs to several South Korean patients last week in the nation's first such case, hospital officials said Tuesday.

Organ donation is okay, but blood donation isn't? |

Not sure what the whole eye roll thing is
Blood donation is fine as long as you meet the requirements. Some countries are restricted but if you're from the U.S. you just need to be in country for a year I believe and be able to understand and answer the screening questions in Korean. Same requirements and restrictions that are found in the U.S.

That's funny because I've known a few people from countries like Canada and the US and they weren't allowed to donate. It is just a tad bit different from the US, I think. |

Props to the donor and her family for their kind gift. Not only will it save lives but it also puts foreigners in a positive light. |
