Do Koreans really worship dead people this holiday when they visit their deceased relatives?

There's probably a nice entry on wikipedia about it if you really want to know.

Define "worship."

Koreans practice a lot of different things. Some of them go the whole shamanistic way with that kind of thing, while others go to their grandpa's grave and do a deep bow and shake off some snow.

There is a huge range between these, so you really can't paint it with a broad stroke like "Do Koreans ....?"

Yes, some do, most don't and a few sort of do.

From what I understand, it's honoring the dead, not worshiping them.

Lunar New Year is a holiday with customs that many of us are not familiar with. Maybe I misunderstood the tone of your post, but there is no need to be rude or insulting about it. If you really are interested, there are probably better places than this forum to get information about it.

Here is a wikipedia article about Korean New Year. It doesn't say much about the role of ancestors in the holiday but I'm sure there is more information available.

A lot of Christian Koreans believe that this practice is sacrilegious, so they don't do it anymore.
