Usually people transfer money out of Korea. I would like to know about transferring money into my Korean account.
I'm looking at my 'KB-Star' bank book here. There's no apparant IBAN (International Banking Account Number) or BIC (Bank Identifier Code) or SWIFT code on the booklet. Just my account number and local bank branch.
I'm guessing i would need the IBAN for my account if i want to transfer money into it. Rather than breaking into a cold sweat and asking the adjumma at my bank for such information (my Korean is as bad as their English), i was hoping one here would know of a website with such info.
I tried the KBstar website but their few English pages (very few) are not helpful. Have you transferred money into your Korean account (KBstar or otherwise)? How did you find your IBAN number? Did you need any other codes (BIC/swift etc)?
p.s. I know that ultimately i can answer my own questions by going to my bank, but i'd rather leave that as a last resort due to the many language problems i've had there before. Just hoping someone could link me to a korean page from the KBstar website with IBAN codes or something.
thanks. |
