Are there any places in Asia with decent flight costs that won't be raining in July? Or is the monsoon season basically everywhere?
I'm guessing all the cheap flight locations (Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok, Taipei) will all be wet because the clouds come from the South. |

That's the dry season in parts of Indonesia, and getting to Bali is pretty reasonably priced. |

Virtually anywhere in the ITCZ (typically anyplace from 10' North lat. to 10' South lat.) will be without "monsoons" but will experience daily showers (usually late afternoon) and clear off for dinner.
It is nice because it cools things off and freshens things up rather than just be hot and sweltering all night.

i've been going to the beaches in thailand (samui) in july for over a decade now and in all that time i've had only one full day washout, yeah there are days that it will rain for an hour or so at some point in the day but the number of clear days have far outnumbered the number of days i got wet
btw ko samet in thailand seems to miss most of the monsoons and is good all year. i wouldnt go on the adaman side of thailand as the surf can get real nasty though |

I did hong kong for 2 weeks last july, and i think i only had 1 or 2 days with rain. it's a cool city, and there are several islands around with great beaches. |
