Mac OS X 10.6, Snow Leopard

120gb hardrive
2ghz core duo processor

For the record, Macbook Pro before 2009 has a hard drive defect. Basically the harddrive stops mouting (doesn't work) after about a years use.

I have the same computer and every year I have to get a new hard drive. First one was free under the warrantee but after that Apple charges 300 bucks to replace it each time.

So basically this computer will randomly break the harddrive and you have to get another one. You lose all your data each time as well as pay through the nose.

BUYER BEWARE.

I think You are unlucky to have one and yes we'll be aware from now.

If the hard disk was defective, swapping it would fix the problem. If it didn't fix the problem, then it's a drive controller issue and that should be replaced. I really don't think that there is an issue with all pre 2009 Macbook Pros.
