I received a very nice invitation to visit an English language Baduk (바둑) club in Seoul. On March 13th, at 12 noon, a couple of retired professors (Korean) will be leading a discussion on board games. I understand refreshments will be served. It sounds like a wonderful place to meet some nice people, share information and play board games. It's located near Gangnam station. I know they are also interested in playing chess.

If anyone is interested, I can probably get more specific details.

It's nice to see that people are interested. I think it would be a nice experience if you enjoy board games. I haven't been able to visit yet, but I hope to in the future.

Here is a link to the club site: http://badukenglish.cyworld.com/

Most of the site is in Korean, but there are some posts in English.

PLEASE MORE DETAILS! DO WANT!!!

Do you have to be invited? I would like to go to this. I'm 5kyu on KGS, not sure how this translates in Korea (probably super weak. lol).

I'm reasonably confident that anyone may attend the club.

Here is the address of the club as sent to me by email:

"Our club is located in the middle of 'Gangnam' & 'Yeoksam' subway station(line no.2). The address is Yeoksam-dong 735-18, Gangnam-gu, Seoul ('Young' building, b1f / Dowha engneering company's building). We have had meeting twice a week regularly and often meet at the retired professors' home (Bundang-gu, Seongnam-city / near 'Migeum' subway station on Bundang line)."

That's about it for details. Maybe, you can glean some more information from the link that I provided earlier in this thread. If I learn more, I will be sure to pass it on.

If anyone attends, I'd like to hear what you think about the club.

It seems to be about a 80 minute trek for me. :/ If I can make it, I'll be there. It's rare to see Baduk lessons in English (that's not online).
