Can anyone recommend a nice restaurant in Seoul for Valentine's Day? I'm not rolling in cash, so nothing too high-end.

Le Sainte-Ex? Great food and ambience. Doesn't kill the pocketbook either.

Le Saint Ex is really good. If you want to spend a bit more for a view, the Grand Marriott is good. If you want a view on the (relatively) cheap you could try going to the Italian restaurant at the top of Acrotower in Anyang.

I recommend 'Chotbul 1978' in Myeong-dong, near Namsam tower. You can visit the tower, or shop a little in Myeong-dong, then head over to the restaurant. It's famous for its romantic setting. A famous actor apparently proposed to his wife there. I would say it's medium priced, not exactly cheap, but far from expensive.

I don't have a number for you, but I am sure a Korean co-worker or friend will be able to set up a reservation for you. I had trouble when I tried to myself as they didn't seem to want to give a foreigner a reservation. Apparently, they had trouble in the past, whatever that means. A co-worker eventually had to call and insure them that I wouldn't 'no-show' and that my girlfriend was Korean, so there wouldn't be a language problem.

Anyway, it was an awesome experience and she loved it. We went up to Namsam and did the love lock thing before heading to the restaurant.

That looks fairly promising. Thanks for the tip.

if you're a guy in korea there's no need to go the romantic route on valentine's day unless the chick is paying

just sit back and wait for the chocolate to roll in...

you'll get your chance to do the romantic thing on white day in march
