Today we have one (1) x 512Mb SimpleTech compact flash card and six (6) x 128Mb compact flash cards (one SanDisk, the rest SimpleTech).

Despite being on the small side, they're basically new. Most have been tested only once (and found to be working fine) after the package was opened. I bought them off ebay fairly recently, for I think about $8 each for the 128Mb ones and $16 for the 512Mb one.

That's all you really need to know. PM, post, or email liondaves at hotmail dot com a reasonable but not ridiculous lowball and I'll mail them to you. Preference shown to those willing to take all of them.

If you're curious, read on:

---------------------

Apparently the newest CF cards (and probably other flash media too) are optimized for fast write times at the expense of slow read times, which is what you want for a digital camera, the most common application. Meanwhile, older cards feature equally fast read and write times, which is what I need for an archaic looping sampler (electronic musical instrument) I have here. I bought these hoping they'd be new-old-stock-- they aren't. They're new and small. If you have an "electrix repeater", don't buy them. If you have anything else (camera, audio recorder, etc.), you'll be fine.

Name your price! Very Happy

I paid about $64 for the lot recently, so try a lowball against say half of that.

You paid $64 dollars for 1.2 GB of memory!?

A new 2 GB CF card is about 9,000 won these days, a 4GB is 11,000, 8GB 19,000. All reputable brands.

Sorry, but mate....MBs are meaningless when cameras are chewing through memory with 7 or 8 MB photos, not to mention video. Plus, the CF format is pretty much dead.

Yeah, I know it seems ridiculous on the surface of it but you have to understand this is an archaic sampler that can't take cards greater than 512Mb in capacity, and only works with old spec CF cards, not new ones.

So me originally spending $64 on such a small amount of memory was not abject stupidity on my part, but rather a crap shoot to see if they'd work, which they don't.

Seems a shame to just chuck 'em. Sad But if either of you or anyone else is of a mind to chuck any CF cards 512Mb or smaller, let me know first eh Wink

So you thought it would be a good idea to rip someone else off?
