My girlfriend's birthday is in a few weeks. (She's American, we came to Korea together). Right now our plans are to go to N Grill in Seoul Tower on a Saturday night.

Does anyone have any ideas for romantic places in Seoul? Something possibly to do during the day before dinner as well as after dinner?

Second, does anyone know of any good hotels that have hot tubs (that aren't necessarily love hotels). I'm guessing this doesn't exist unless it's a fairly expensive hotel. I've been googling a lot and found a few but they are either really expensive or slightly seedy love motels.

Thanks in advance.

Loads of nice love motels that aren't outrageously expensive.

Everyone's idea of romantic is different so you probably know what she likes best. Eg if she likes shopping and walking and talking do that. If she likes art, go to a museum.

As I've said before, most love motels I've stayed at have been far from seedy. I'm not talking five star, but pretty plush for the price, and not dirty in the least. Finding a nice one isn't that hard.

Hotel Dodo in Yeongdeungpo.
It's a love motel, but they have bookings on expedia and other travel sites. The VIP room has a nice jacuzzi and is quite big for only 120ish. The area and entrance still have a love motel feel, but the rooms are quite nice.

There's also a series of 'letter' hotels in Yeongdeungpo nearby (they're all on the same strip). The nicest one is the 'R Hotel' but it's a bit more expensive than the one above.

Also check some of the travel sites. You may find a decent price on a good hotel. I stayed at a place in Gangnam (can't remember the name now) that was really nice for only around 100 or so.

As for romantic things to do... I'd personally skip the N Grill, but that's just me. There are a lot of nicer (and cheaper options) imo.

Have you thought of booking a pension? Getting into the country side may be a bit nicer.

The top of 63 building is nice. Good views, variety.

Of course, depends on the budget. Better recommendations can be made when a budget is available. Might I recommend:

Coach: 1,000-200,000
Business: 200,001-750,000
First: 750,001-Gangnam Penthouse

Smile

Edit: The Yeoido side of the Gangnam river park area is pretty nice for a walk too.

I always enjoyed taking my girlfriend to a concert at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts. Sometimes it can get a bit pricey, but sometimes you should shell out that money.

There are a number of nice places to eat in the Gwanghwamun area too.
