Can anyone recommend some good TOPIK study guides for someone at the intermediate level (hoping to score a 3 or a 4)? I'm starting to look into the requirements for the F-2 and might be able to qualify soon with some Korean proficiency points. |

See if you can books of the practice (past) tests. That's what I did for the KLPT (another Korean test). If they have them, they'll be at the bookstore in the Korean textbook section. |

All of the past TOPIK tests are available on line including MP3 files of listening, listening scripts, and answer sheets. Explanations are not available so you need a grammar reference to explain what you don't know.

The Darakwon books are also very helpful. I'll be taking the beginner test in April, good luck to you! |

There is a series of books published by KICE that are trainer books for the exams. They are not the practice test books, but rather 1 book for grammar, and another for vocabulary...both with English explanations.
I have never seen these at the Actual Kyobo bookstore here in Daegu, but a friend of mine got her hands on them early last year and said they were very good. I can't seem to find the same books on the Kyobo website (although the cover may have changed) but there are quite a few non-practice test TOPIK related books available on the website.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm going to visit the bookstore in the next few days and see what they have available. I'm hoping to find the Darakwon books mentioned as well as maybe a book of practice tests and a book like coralreefer_1 mentioned, though I'm also looking at the TOPIK site now to see how user friendly their test files are.

For vocabulary only, get the Korean Essential Vocabulary 6000 pocket book. It's only 8000 won at Kyobo. It divides vocabulary into three sections, A (Level 1-2 TOPIK), B (level 3-4) and C (level 5-6). It also has the hanja for any words that have a hanja equivalent. It's very portable because of its small size.
There are a few grammar pages but obviously you'd want something else for grammar. |
