Today I received a notice from my Korean co-teacher on cool messenger that the school midterms have been extended. Why? Because we won't have water for three days in October.

Quote:
The whole Gimpo area will be affected by water supply cut from Oct 5th~7th due to improvements on the water plants. Consequently, the school calendar including the midterm will be changed. The midterms are now moved to Oct 4~11th. All students and staff will have to be out of Gimpo for the said days.

Has this ever happened before?

Yes. In many Korean cities this happens once a year for maintenance.

I remember those days in Gimpo. Washing my hair with Sam Dasoo was an interesting experience.

It happened there in Winter 2008-2009, but I think that was because of a burst/frozen pipe. Took three or four days for water to return. In the meantime, I had to buy as many little bottles of SamDaSoo as I could find, as all the large ones had been bought.

Your best bet is to try going to a jimjilbang for a shower, as they have reserves that last a couple of days. Failing that, a truck should come around with water tanks, and you can fill up empty bottles.
