Hello everyone,
I'm going to the EPIK orientation on the 17th of Feb and I just received an EPIK pre orientation course.
Has anyone done this before. It says that you need to sit for two test and get a passing grade of 70%.
Has anyone had any problems / difficulties with the test in the past? |

No I haven't taken it, good to know they are asking teachers to do this as I am planning to apply with EPIK next intake.
When I read your post, I thought maybe the pre-orientation stuff involved some "disturbing" material (i.e. unethical). |

I had to take one after being here for a year. The stuff is very easy. If you've ever taken an education course in university, it's VERY easy, but even if you haven't, you shouldn't have any trouble with it. If you're worried, take notes and use them for the tests. |

I had to do it as well. It's very easy and straight forward. I think you can re-sit it if you get below 70% but in reality you would have to cheated your way through Uni to get below 70%
Theres also another one that you have to do after the orientation, it's also very easy.
It's basically pretty boring if you've got any experience in teaching or child psychology but if you have got a degree in finance/business management/accounting etc then it can't hurt.
It's actually not a bad idea on EPIKS behalf to help provide additional knowledge to those new to teaching. In my case my co-teacher just stuck the two completed certificates into my official folder without even looking at them.
On a side note it just tells you that you have passed there is no grade. I probably spent to much time going for a good grade. In reality there are ways to just skim through it and you should still pass easily enough |
