So I want to leave my current place of work. However, my boss is trying to keep me until they found a replacement teacher.
I don't mind doing a Visa run to Japan and I have tons of interviews with potential companies already lined up.
However, the recruiter is claiming that if she doesn't cancel the VISA, I can't return to korean until is expires.
EDIT: If anyone wants a position that pays 2.7 million(with large housing included) outside of Seoul, PM me pronto!!!!! Position ain't bad at all, but I have an internship in Seoul and the commute is killing me plus the equip I lug around won't fit on my motorcycle.... |

Currently, the ONLY way to cancel your visa without your current employer's permission is to leave Korea and hand in your ARC on the way out.
A fast turn-round trip to anywhere will suffice (morning flight out and afternoon flight back works).
You will re-enter as a tourist, apply (though your new employer) for a new visa confirmation number and do a visa run (usually paid for by your new employer) to (usually) Japan.
The ONLY other alternative is to get your employer to go with you to immigration to cancel your visa.

I thought their bluff was BS....the recruiter was claiming that I would be banned from Korea if I did that.
Trying to save his pay check |

Recruiters say the funniest things. I like the old " I know someone at immgration" a couple of them used on me. |
