EPIK is now doing the recruiting for Seoul public schools.
One Middle school in Seoul is interested in hiring me directly, but my GPA is slieghtly lower than the requirements for EPIK.
However, the new EPIK website is mentioning nothing about the GPA requirements for GETs that was instituted last year...and it is Seoul....
Do they still apply? I can't find any reference to the GPA req. any more on the website or from recruiters.
EDIT: nothing in the 2011 contract.....
Can anybody confirm this or ask somebody at EPIK? |

actually the GPA score for Seoul public schools will be increasing from the next intake. It could just be that the school is hiring a teacher itself and as a result has chosen to overlook this, or they may not be aware.
Seoul EPIK as a scheme does it to try and get better people, but it is not an immigration requirement to get a visa.
Also non North American applicants dont have GPAs at all... |

For what its worth a recruiter told me that EPIK has an official GPA floor of 2.5 and SMOE had 3.0. No such worries at GEPIK because some of the schools are desparate for teachers. A fspecific GPA is not listed officially as a requirement but they use it as one of the things to weed people out.
Nothing official but then again, what you look like (race, body type and gender) is not official as well and that is also used to weed people out. |
