Hey all, I'm about to start a one-on-one class with a Korean Businessman through my hagwon.

We will be meeting at least three times a week, so I'd like to use a textbook to keep my planing time down.

Any ideas what a good series to use would be? aS I said, he is a businessman, so I want to stay away from anything that comes off too juvenile, but he made it clear that he is primarily interested in BASIC english... beginning grammer, sentence structure, greetings, etc.

Any good ideas/resources anyone? (especially something i could pick up at What the Book this weekend Very Happy )

I've always liked the Interchange series by Jack Richards.

Interchange is not really for beginners and their Intro book sucks. Side By Side is a good basic book to start with, but it gets boring about 1/2 the way into it. At that point, I usually start introducing other related material with it and use 1/2 and 1/2.

English file / American English file (level 1 or 2). They are essentially the same, they just change the spellings and vocab from real English to American English. They are very straight forward and offer a multi skills approach.

thanks everyone, with all your suggestions plus those in the other thread (thanks, I can't believe I missed that!) I should have a good pool of materials to chose from.
