Ahhh..I'm so stressed out. I need to vent and I'm hoping somebody can tell me something good about this situation. I'm assuming there are no solutions though.
So I sent away for my RCMP check at the end of OCTOBER. It seems like AGES ago. I still haven't received it in the mail. In the meantime, I landed an amazing university job and I'm leaving my public school at the end of this school year's contract. My visa is about to expire and I need to do the transfer asap. Why the hell does it take so long? Seriously, over 100 days to put my name and prints into a computer? Somebody stop the immigration madness!! I really don't want to forfeit this job. |

You do know that the people in the country have an extra year to get their things in right?
Talk to your immigration office to hear what they have to say on the issue. I'm willing to put up 50000 won saying that they'll transfer the visa without the background check. |

This is what I had to do:
Email the RCMP and ask about your check. They told me mine hadn't even been processed yet. I also sent mine at the end of October.
Print off your "correspondance" with the RCMP and take all of the regular documents. I renewed my Visa without my apostilled degree or CRC two weeks ago. I had to sign a form stating that I promise to have those documents the "next time" I need to apply for my Visa. They did take my email from the RCMP, though. I didn't realize that until later.
Don't get too stressed out about it. I suggest just going in like I did. I went to the Seoul Immigration Office near Omokyo station. |

You are aware that you may be able to complete a transfer without the new CRC (since you would have submitted an embassy certified national check already) but may have to sign a document saying that you will submit (an RCMP) one next time to if you want change your visa status.
They WON'T kick you out and they will give you time to get it.
Talk to K-immi about a transfer rather than a new visa.

Ease of transfer rules have now come into effect.
K-immi have eased the restrictions (allowing those who are here) time to comply with the new requirements.
Talk to Kimmi about your SPECIFIC case (each case is adjudicated on its own merits and based on the documents they have now). You may be allowed time to comply or may not be required to submit new documents at all.

Yes of course. Thanks for your help. I will book an appointment online to go in and chat to them and just take everything I have so far. |

I got an RCMP clearance a few years ago. At that time, the stated average wait period was 6 months. In the end, it took that long to receive the final document.
My employer at the time was breathing down my neck for the clearance. I just explained the situation and, as others have suggested, showed my email correspondence with the Mounties. That worked for a while.
You've only been waiting about 4 months. Hang in there. It's coming. |

Did you only send the fingerprint form to the RCMP or did you send any others too? I emailed them and they seemed to indicate just that form but answered in a strange way. So, I want to be sure. |

Can any Canadians answer this? What did you send? Only one form? I want to send my fingerprint form off next week. But, is this all I need? |

The RCMP website has all the info you need. I sent one fingerprinting form given to me from the embassy when I was there renewing my passport. Other than that form, you need a $25 cdn money order that you can get from the KEB bank. Send everything off to Ottawa using the address given on the website. |

It also says on the website that they will accept the Korean form as long as it has all the specifications the RCMP asks for. |
