Every neighbourhood I have lived in has had some crazies walking around who give entertainment to others. No one ever does anything about it nor helps them in any way.

Case #1: Andre Kim...reborn?

This ajosshi who lives near me (not sure where) get stared at everywhere he goes. And rightfully so. He has dyed hair, curly, and he wears something that looks like a purple, skin-tight, spandex tuxedo shit. It is low enough to show off his chest hair. His pants are low and tight enough (some sort of spandex-type material) to show off his package, and he has pubes sticking out of the top. He wears sunglasses at any time of the day. I have no idea what the guy does for money. Maybe an internet business. I see the guy once a month or so.

Case #2: Divorced-woman-gone-crazy

There is a local woman who works as a food delivery person at a local boon-shik restaurant. She's 30 years old and not overly attractive. A bit overweight. Anyways, she was married and then divorced. her child is being cared for by her in-laws. The lady got some sort of shock (physical or mental, not sure) and went nuts.

She desperately wants a friend. On her payday, she goes out onto the street and finds a random 50-60 year old man and asks him to drink with her. She offers to pay for it. She spends her entire paycheck in one night and then no-shows work the next day. I guess she's young enough and not incredibly fugly (maybe a 2 or 3 out of 10) that some old man likes it. She introduces the old man as her boyfriend.

She met my brother-in-law one night and joined his table at the bar. I guess they were too polite to tell her to f off. She paid their bill and then dragged them to a singing room. They ran off. The next day she went to my mother-in-law and told her. My MIL told her to shut up. She came back 3 days consecutively and told her the same story and got the same response from my MIL.

What neighborhood are you in?

I would like to meet the 30 years old and not overly attractive divorcee - especially as she just want a friend to drink with - and doesn't mind paying the bill.

Maybe she could also clean my apartment for me for a small fee the next day. I would like a F-2 visa and she sounds desperate to find a man.

Freakiest Hangook thread?

Haven't met anyone that crazy... Crying or Very sad

There was this one guy at SPAO who had this whole "professor" look going on. Brown suit, vest, handkerchief, crazy glasses, moustache, wild hair. Me and a buddy of mine were commenting on him while in line and the other check girls overheard us and burst out laughing...

If you are serious, I can introduce you, but I don't think you want her. She has some legitimate problem in her head.

But then again, I bet she would clean your place for free. And pay the bill on the one day she has money, because she spends her whole paycheck on payday. 29 days of the month she is broke. She may go to a motel with you. Not sure.

There is no crazie crazier than the atomic/space man that would be spotted around Seoul. He's been mentioned on this forum before in years past.

I once saw him with my own eyes in the subway. He wears boxes on his feet stuck on with silver masking tape, with a full silver get up and gas mask. His little dog wears the same get up.

Then again, maybe we are all the crazy ones if the world ends next year, and this guy and his dog are the only ones to survive. I think there might be a picture of this guy on the internet somewhere.

And I just remembered a crazy I saw in Sinchon underground walkway one day. He was sitting on a bench wearing pink satin ladie's underwear on his head, with his eyes poking through the leg holes. I so wish I got a picture of this guy.

Truth is, one of the reasons I like living in Seoul is because of the crazies. They seem more eccentric than the variety in Canada.

I had friends in Mokpo Jeollanam Do, a couple of years back and I noticed every time I went there the city had an over abundance of odd and surly people, as well as obnoxious schoolkids swearing in both Korean and English at foreigners and older people doing the same in Korean only.

The odd person who stuck out the most was the giant bloke who just wanders around the train station. We offered him a drink on a hot day (in polite Korean) and he started screaming at us, calling for the police, and telling us we were foreign bastards and bitches. The police told us to get out of the station even though we had KITX tickets for the train that was due to depart in 20 minutes. Evil or Very Mad

Mokpo has the most charmless people in Korea in my opinion. You'd have to pay me a minimum of 9 million won per month to work there.

Been to those places. They don't hold a candle to the Castro in San Francisco. Though the crazies there are more the homosexual variety. At any time of the day, you'll find groups of men in full "Priscilla Queen of the Desert" style drag complete with large headdresses making out in the streets with other men in pink tutus or chapless biker leather.

I asked this Korean guy for directions in my neighborhood last year and he spoke English pretty well. He asked if I wanted to grab a beer and I said, "Sure, why not". He started discussing his ex and apparently he was a full time stalker. He showed me a notebook filled with dates and times of her every move. He would even follow her while disguised as a women with a dress and wig on. Psyyyycho. I didnt hang out too long after that.

The other weirdo is the guy who goes around with a cart collecting junk electronics. I see him at least once a week. He yells his message though a megaphone that doesnt work. Maybe not that weird but it makes me chuckle every time I see him.

There is a Korean High School teacher I retrained back in about 2003. Her nickname was Snow White. She always wore costumes such as Little Bo Peep, Cinderella, Dorothy from the Wiz, Snow White and so on. She must have had a bout a dozen of these different costumes, and she wore different colored wigs with them. Her Little Bo Peep getup even had a long handled shepherd's crook. Also, although she was over 50, she always spoke in a little girl's voice. (Imagine having her for your high school English teacher?)

-----------
Not sure if he is crazy-- eccentric maybe. There is an old Korean man I sometimes see in the neighborhood. He has a full beard and long hair. He might be around 70+ years old. He always wears Scottish attire. Kilt, tartan vest, hat (with a pompom on top)... the whole shebang. And he has different colored outfits, but all Scottish.

I don't have a story. But I wanted to say this thread makes me smile. So long as they aren't being abusive or rude, I say let that freak flag fly. Eccentric people make the world more colorful and interesting.
