As the story goes: Super Color Super is promoter of indie rock shows in Seoul. But they don't just bring big acts to Korea, they spend a lot of time helping to throw shows for smaller local Korean bands (Wagwak, Demian The Band etc.). Apparently some of the bigger Korean concert promoters are working overtime to find archaic rules SCS may have broken to get them shut down.
There's not much to be done at the moment, but it's precisely this kind of thing that keeps Korea in a cultural stone age. 2 years ago bands never toured here- They did China and Japan extensively, they never came to Korea. Now they actually stop in and someone is trying to kill the party. Lame.
Via SCS: "Basically, a few days ago we heard rumor that a big organizer was waiting to hurt us-- and today we got a call from an obscure media censorship board that the organizer called and says Liars can be cleared. This is a board that is not used in Korea, for any shows on any given weekend. It's a archaic rule like technically you cannot legally dance in most venues (because of zoning)." |
