I lost weight at first even though I was eating constantly, continued to eat like a pig for about two months and stayed the same, but then started gaining again, lol. Eating like a human now and slowly losing weight.

First time around I gained weight, resulting in a perceptible increase in badness and immorality.

The next time I lost weight and continue to be slim and trim with the resulting goodness and sound morality.

I gained weight. Change makes me hungry. I was getting less exercise as I no longer was riding my bike 5 miles to and then from work 5 days/week. I found (and still do) it a lot harder to eat veggies (less convenience veggies, pre-cut ones are super overpriced). I drank a lot of soju not realizing a single bottle was 600 calories. I ate a lot of rice, which my body was not used to so much sugar/carbs.

I weigh about 5 lbs less than when I came the first time around as I've been dieting (lost 9lbs last month, yay!), but I don't know if I can retain the loss because I've been very stressed lately and therefore have been eating.

I talk about this stuff a lot online because my husband and friends are sick of hearing about it. Sorry.

What do you mean "upon arrival?" I've lost a lot of weight and gained muscle, but that was after a year of living here.

ditto, but this was part of a plan, not simply because I live(d) here. I actually pigged out on all kinds of bad food for 2 months before coming here, because I knew I wouldn't be having them here so I came in even "worse" than I was supposed to be Smile. I also knew I wouldn't be eating a lot of Korean food, so a make at home diet/health food plan was concocted.

I find it infinitely easier to get into and stay in shape outside the land of the fat.

I went the other way =(

Now I find it hard to make it through the day without murder, petty theft, downloading movies not available in Korea, rape, or taking two sets of disposable chopsticks from 7-11 when I knew I was only going to use one set.

(For stat-watchers: I've gained 8kg in 6 years. And I'm still slim.)

And where did you get that info? When i googled soju calories, I found a blog that stated there were 540 calories in a soju bottle but it didn't have anything to back up that assertion. other sites used that blog as their reference.
