Does anyone have any recommendations for such a thing?
I'm considering the Nu-tech HDW-081. |

Dvd Writers:
Speeds: 2X, 4X, 8X, 12X.
4X burns a DVD in 13 minutes.
Capacity: 4.37 Gigs (actual)
DVD+R (technically superior, marginally). A little more expensive than DVD-R.
DVD players are based on DVD-r format. New players will play DVD+R/-R.
DVD writers come in dual format or single format.
You will need USB 2.0
An 8gig DVD writer is coming out soon.
I recommend that you buy a premium burner (with great reviews)because they will write on more discs...some burners are very very fussy.
I use a Plextor 504UF 4X external DVD+R burner. I use it as an external hard drive (for big but seldomly used programs) through virtual CD/DVD, backing up digital photos (8000 pics / 500KB each), DVD movie back ups, music backup, and data backup.
Roxio Easy CD and DVD Creator 6 is an easy DVD backup program to use.
You will have to make your own selection of software when backing up your DVD movies.
Good luck!

Feel free to ask me any questions. Please PM me though, as I don't check back frequently enough to answer promptly. |
