Hello all,
I have recently moved to Ori, Bundang. I was wondering if ya'll could suggest an internet provider. I used C&M before and it was rubbish. I do torrent a bit (Wii games, HD videos, TV series) so would prefer 100Mb/s speeds. I hear KT is the best company for high speeds and torrent downloading.
Also, I was looking for suggestions on a new TV. I researched TVs through going to stores/online but I was looking for suggestions on what ya'll use and like. I am looking at spending between 1-1.5 million. I will just use it for playing HD videos from my computer, playing Wii, and watching TV. Any suggestions? I was looking at the LG 42LD660 (on sale at HiMart now) but open to other options. I am not in a big rush (going to buy it in a week or two) so the more suggestions, the merrier.
Appreciate the help! |

I can't make any suggestions particular to Bundang, but you can't go wrong with KT. |

Bundang is pretty much Seoul. whatever they have, we have.
KT or SK is fine. Depends on your building too really...old building tend to have crappier connection.
in either case, SK used to have a neat offer for a few months with a freebie Home Plus card if you sign up for a year (70$ value) and that's what totally got me. I used that card for 3 months and would probably look for the same value deal next year. |

I think we are going to go with KT. When I initially signed up with C&M, it was for a two year contract but I am allowed to break it earlier since they don't offer service in Bundang (thankfully). I will have to see what each company offers for incentives to my business. A Homeplus card would be nice seeing as it is right across from our new apartment. The only problem with SK is with their routers. My in-laws use SK and I couldn't figure out how to open their ports when I was there.
Now I just have to figure out which TV we are going to purchase. I am having doubts on the model I chose as I can only find it on two sites and one of those is linking to the other (HiMart). It has a fast refresh rate (240Hz). Is wireless ready (not sure if I will use it but nice just in case), has enough HDMI ports, etc.. Has anyone bought this TV? http://www.e-himart.co.kr/store/prditm.jsp?prdid=967&prditmid=39947&fromShop=dnw&service_id=elecdn
The sale ends next week and it seems like a good deal. I'm not the most knowledgeable about TVs but from what I do know it looks fine. |

I'm at Jeongja-dong and use SK. I have internet and iptv for about 35,000 won a month for both. The internet is pretty fast (about 100mpbs) and the tv service has sum pretty good English channels. I opted out of using the SK brand router and bought a D-link wireless router (in English). As for free gifts, I got a 60,000 won Shinsaegae giftcard. So far no problems!
I used to live near Ori station and was using LG internet service. From my year with them, I prefer SK a lot more haha |
