My new job entitles conversation classes. I have a beginners-adult class with one student. She is about 35 and hasn't spoken much English in the past 15 years (doesn't use it much at her job).
Can somebody help me find a great beginners conversation book? What's a good series you use? I went to Kyobo but nothing seemed to be the right kind I want.
Any textbooks you have used? I spend most of the class basically just talking but I'd like for her to have something to study between classes.
Thanks!
Teaching adults is much better than elementary students. No stress! |

Rather than having the burden of getting a book, why not talk about certain news or magazine articles. You could email her a link to an article, then discuss it in class. Talk to her about what kind of topics she's interested in.
That's just a possible alternative than having to use those dreaded things...BOOKS! Ugh! |

Thanks. Yeah, I agree with you. I just really want to help the student as much as possible outside of my class. I have a list of discussion topics that I have her and told her to let me know what she would like to discuss. |
