Hey,

A friend of mine is thinking about leaving Korea before his E2 visa date is finished. Paying for his own flight and just walking. Is this possible?
Will immigration at the airport simply take and destroy your ARC card and let you through?
Or is there more to it? Will he get stuck at the airport, or red listed for returning the future?

Any help on this subject would be great.
Thanks

He turns in his ARC at airport immigration when he leaves korea and his visa is cancelled. He wont be stopped and he will be able to return to korean again without problems.

Go to the airport.
Check his baggage, get his boarding pass.
Go through security.
Go to the immigration officer at passport control.
Hand in his ARC as they stamp his passport (canceling his visa) - If asked just say that he is leaving and not planning to return.
Go to the boarding gate.
Get on the airplane.
Get airborne.
Get a drink, relax and enjoy the flight to his next destination.

It is that simple.

Yes, it is not a big event. You can't be forced to teach English. If that person wants to go, then he/she is free to go however they want to do it.
