I know normally in Korea that the woman gives chocolates to the man on Valentine's Day. I'm wondering what you do with your Korean girlfriend. Do you not get her anything (wait until White Day)? Does she only give you something? Or, do you go the Western route and still get her something?

Please, no comments about how silly these holidays are etc.

We have a double standard. I don't expect anything. She may surprise me, however.

I'm at six months and it's Valentine's Day, so I'm actually going to spring for a big gift (with help from the 100k Lotte gift certificate I got from one of my moms) and a Le Sainte Ex.

So says a man with no romance in his heart.

It's nearing the end of long cold winter and the chance to thaw out cold, chilled hearts in love in time for Spring and the rekindling of passions and love. I say go all out. Wether it be gifts, dinners, night out in the town, the important thing is be sincere. Sincerity, kindness, openess, love, passion THOSE are the things to be concerned with, objects of the heart; not objects of the local department store.

I just had a heart-to-heart conversation with my significant other over skype who lives in another country right now. And it was wonderful.

leaving apart the discussion of "romance" for the moment.......

if romance is your thing, you should strive to imbue each week, perhaps even each day with it, instead of stupid commercially driven posturing on a day specifically chosen for "bidness" purposes.
