I'll be living in Imun-Dong by the 25th. Since this will be my first time in Korea, I will be a complete and utter loner. Therefore, my expectations for friendship will not be very high. You only need to meet these basic qualifications:
1) Reasonable hygiene
2) Non violent/racist/sexist
3) Generally positive
That's about it. If you think that you meet all or at least most of these qualifications then send a PM or an ordinary message. Keep in mind that I will be a wide-eyed, lost newb, which might be good or bad depending on your opinions of newbs.
Thank-you,
Matt

Does a person have to meet all of these or is just one enough?
I don't even know why I ask, I fail on both accounts, but maybe it'll help someone else. |

I thought Patrick Bateman had great hygiene. What a disappointment. If a guy is going to commit murder, the least he can do is exfoliate. |

I think it's probably a good thing that I don't even know where Imun-dong is. |

I'm good on #1. But 2(the non-violent part) and 3...not so much. So I guess that rules me out. Oh, well. *sniff*(with tears streaming down my face). |

Maybe back in the 80's this was so, but in the 90's I lost all of my money in the dotcom bust and I had to move in with my brother Sean at Camden. Now there is only an idea of Patrick Bateman. |

Don't worry about it too much. You'll probably make some friends at work. If not, one year of solitude isn't too bad. Let people use you for English practice. They will pretend to be your friends if you ask them. |

I *think* I have good hygiene, but I'm not sure if I'd be comfortable hanging out with somebody who tells me straight up that they'll be rating me on hygiene. We all have our off days! |

well you know, maybe friendships need a little harsh physical punishment from time to time. |

That does sound a bit strange, but I guess I don't really judge someone if their hygiene is good. Only when it's bad. |

what if you're just a normal person but "overly positive" people seriously get on your nerves?
btw.. there are things to be said for loneliness. Embrace it. Enjoy it. Treasure it.
it's always easier to meet people than evade them.
I recent had a beer bottle thrown at my eye socket (fortunately escaping serious injury, especially my eye) because of an idiot "friend" who clearly has some "issues" I was unaware of. |

Cool. How long have you been in Korea? I've heard Imun-dong has some really good restaurants and hang out spots. Not sure if this is true.

I went to a personal training conference in Toronto once. Everyone seemed high on life, and it was irritating.
