Hello.
I have currently 4 subjects left to complete my degree however i have deferred. I have attained a proper TESOL diploma and i have been to many interviews and have started working at a hagwon. But i want to move to another hagwon because the one that I'm working in right now is kinda crap. If i were to be accepted in another hagwon should i just use TESOL as my qualification? Or should i state that i have put my uni studies on hold as well as my TESOL qualification? Because Korea is all about having a BA.
Thanks
Sam

Unless you have a degree (Bachelor of ______) working as a teacher is ILLEGAL (full stop, end of discussion - MOE).

IF you are on a tourist stamp or an F4 you also have NO protection under the labor board for unpaid wages or other complaints if you are working illegally as a teacher.

You CANNOT get an E2 without a "completed" DEGREE (immigration requirement).

Can you find work in another hagwan = probably

but any place that will hire you is already skirting the law so don't expect much better than what you are getting now.

.

I'm on a f-4 visa.
I understand the risks, but I've haven't been scammed yet and hopefully not.

It also pertains to your resume.

You can flower it however you want (or flour it for frying if you prefer).

Anyone who reads your resume should understand that your degree is incomplete (you do not have one) and that you cannot legally work as a teacher so regardless of whatever pretty language you use it won't make any difference to getting hired.

Either they will hire an illegal worker/teacher or they won't.

I just love threads like this. I can smell another batch of E-2 restrictions coming because of this F-4 visa holder. Mad
